Discover the magic of Coiba through our volunteers. Enjoy vicariously thorough them the wonderful adventure that our friends at Watching Dolphins have helped make possible:
Since 2006, Lago bay has received hundreds of volunteers from all over the world. They have been a fundamental part of the spirit of this family throughout the winding path our development.
During the last couple of weeks, three distinguished volunteers have come together and have used their diverse talents and dedication for social networks' content creation. A great job!!
Rhiannon, Cristobal and Paula launched their tour with our friends from Watching Dolphins to Coiba Island, the areas #1 tourism attraction. They spotted dolphins and whales, swam with turtles and sharks, enjoyed delicious food and relaxed on Coiba's beautiful beaches
All three volunteers from diverse backgrounds and occupations could agree that 'Visiting Coiba will always be magical'. Here's what they each said about their Coiba experience:
Rhiannon:
Going to Coiba Island was an amazing experience. Being on the speed boat for 1.30 hour is already so cool. It goes very fast, but luckily the ocean was quite easy and we had a great trip. When we were halfway the dolphins came to greet us already, so that was very special.
When we arrived in Coiba National Park we saw the beautiful green islands, the clear water and you just want to jump in. And that's exactly what we did. We had three great snorkel sessions. While snorkeling we saw sea turtles, white tips sharks and snakes, very beautiful. In between we had a great lunch at Coiba Island and here we went to the mirador and also to the museum, but when I was in the museum they saw humpback whales just from the beach! I missed them unfortunately, but that just means I need to come back one day to see them.
It was a perfect day with and everything was arranged very well. A good trip, great lunch, fresh snacks and a beautiful experience with good guidance in and on the water.
Cristobal:
I think that the opportunity to know Coiba Island and specifically to swim in its waters and observe the corals and all the marine biodiversity has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, it is somehow an iconic experience if I think about the idea of knowing the natural heritage of Panama and enjoy such pristine conservation areas. Every moment was very exciting, with a grateful heart I could observe such beauty and I could only feel happiness, swimming with sharks and turtles had been a dream since I was a child so that day I submerged in the crystal clear waters with the feeling of a dream fulfilled. The paradisiacal beaches and the delicious food, part of the tour, were only improving something that already seemed perfect, all in all it was a magical day.
Paula:
To feel how the sea embraced every part of my being, tenderly enveloping each one of my senses, to observe as if it were my first time in this world the great corals, each one with an unimaginably singular beauty, to swim with colorful fish, sharks and turtles, has been one of the most magical experiences of my life. With a happy and grateful spirit I met one of the most beautiful and unknown islands, a great living being of warm beaches and inhabitants of all kingdoms and species.
I treasure Coiba Island as a unique place in this earthly space, and for the same reason, my desire is aligned to the human care towards it, hoping that the conscience of each person who visits it or is dedicated to tourism, connects with the deep respect it deserves.
Saludos from Lago Bay!!
